I was very lucky to spend a day at Taronga Zoo recently to film a story about the wonderful Aussie animals that appear in my book A Hollow is a Home. A huge thanks to the Taronga Ed team and especially the Children’s Book Council of Australia for hosting this event. During the day I met Seisa the Palm Cockatoo, Griffin the Lesser Sooty Owl, and a bunch of other critters including a bearded dragon, squirrel glider, white lipped tree frog, carpet python, superb parrots and a sweet little ringtail possum. What a great day! Check out this picture of me reading to Seisa – now there’s something I never thought I would do! The film will be posted on the CBCA and zoo websites on October 1st 2020 to celebrate this years book week theme – Curious Creatures, Wild Minds.
