Whoever thought making mud could be educational? The Super Pollinators workshop offers mud bricks for our native blue-banded bees. Students love mixing the mud and placing it into a mould which when hardened becomes a perfect home for this species. Our moulds vary depending on what what we can reuse – in these pictures we have pvc pipe, but our bricks are equally awesome when made with reused flower pots or other weather proof containers! A visit to Lakelands Public School in Dapto saw over 90 students happily mixing mud and even renaming our Blue-banded bee to Blue-Bandit Bee….catchy!
